Our Story

Our Beginnings

Blue Yonder Sail Charters was born out of a dream to share the beauty of Maine's coastal landscapes with friends and visitors. Our 40' wooden sloop, Tammy Norie, was built at Whisstocks Boatyard in Woodbridge, England in 1969. She has completed a number of transatlantic sails and has experienced a rich history of voyaging and coastal cruising, as well as transformation from a ketch to her current rig status as a sloop. Blue Yonder Sail Charters operated primarily from North Haven island in Penobscot Bay from 2008-2020, but now we are excited to be operating from the mainland in Rockport Harbor. From Rockport, we set sail to explore the iconic coves, islands and waters that define this special corner of the planet.
